Peyrani Sud
Peyrani has been present in Taranto since 1963, when the Piedmont-based company was awarded the contract for the transport of the oversized components for the new Italsider steelworks.
To manage the discharge and handling of the plant equipment, Peyrani began operating as a stevedoring company at the Ionian port. With the incorporation of PEYRANI SUD in 1980 and, subsequently, the entry into force of Law 84/94, the Group continued to invest, progressively expanding its fleet and the equipment dedicated to port operations.
From 2019 to 2022, Peyrani Sud carried out the discharge of raw materials at the 4th and 5th piers of the Port of Taranto on behalf of Acciaierie d’Italia, deploying cranes, special carrier vehicles and equipment designed, engineered and manufactured entirely in-house within the Group: a commitment that ensured the continuous supply of the ore yards, for a total of 10 million tons discharged.
Since the early 2000s, Peyrani Sud has specialized in wind component handling and transport services for the world’s leading turbine manufacturers.
Peyrani Sud works with the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturers, providing discharge, port handling, transport, storage, reloading and loading of all components required for the construction of WTGs, both onshore and offshore.
Peyrani Sud is VESTAS’ preferred partner for the port handling, storage, reloading and loading of all the blades produced at the Taranto plant — up to 115 meters in length — and shipped to markets worldwide. This partnership was recognized in 2026 with the prestigious “Best Partner for Stevedoring Company” award.

The Group operates in the strategic ports of southern Italy, with a direct presence in TARANTO and BRINDISI — both offering water depths that allow vessels of any tonnage to berth (up to 15 m in Taranto and 14 m in Brindisi) and extensive inland areas dedicated to the transhipment and storage of cargo (1,000,000 sqm in Taranto and 300,000 sqm in Brindisi). Since 2023 the Group has also been present in the port of MANFREDONIA, through PQUADRATO S.r.l., a joint venture company established with Fratelli Paradiso.From the ports of Taranto and Brindisi, the Group directly manages and coordinates the entire logistics chain for the cargo entrusted to it by its Clients: from loading and discharge operations to transfer to port storage areas or to areas owned by the Group, through to reloading and final delivery.
The service covers every type of cargo, regardless of size and volume: oversized plant equipment, wind turbine components, general cargo, bulk cargo, containers and ro-ro units.
